RAFI SHAREES is a saree house in Mirpur 10, Dhaka, stocking handloom Jamdani from Narayanganj, Katan and Banarasi for weddings, everyday Tangail cotton, and Rajshahi silk. Every saree is photographed from five angles — the full drape, border, pallu, a close-up of the weave and folded — so what you see online is what arrives. Sizes and colourways carry their own stock, so a piece shown in stock is really available.

The weaves of Bangladesh, in one shelf
Bangladesh weaves more kinds of saree than most people can name. Jamdani from Rupganj and Sonargaon, figured by hand on a pit loom. Tangail from Pathrail and Delduar, the soft cotton of every weekday. Katan and Banarasi from Mirpur's Benarasi Palli, the wedding silks. Rajshahi silk from the mulberry country of the north-west, and Monipuri from Sylhet. Each has its own hand, its own weight and its own price band, and the same word — saree — hides all of that.
This page lists every saree in the shop with its price written on it. The shelves behind it — Jamdani, Katan, Tangail, silk — each explain their weave, what drives its price and how to tell the real thing, so you can read before you compare.
What decides a saree's price
Four things, in this order: the fibre (cotton, half-silk, pure silk), the loom (hand or power), the work (how dense the motifs or the zari are) and the time it took. A Jamdani with a full-body motif can take a weaver and an apprentice three months; a printed cotton takes an afternoon. The price on the tag follows that, and a price that looks too good for the weave it claims usually is.
We write the price on every piece and do not bargain. What you see on this page is what you pay at the counter, plus delivery.
Before you buy
- Check the length: most sarees here are 5.5 m; the 6.3 m option includes a blouse piece.
- Handloom pieces show slight irregularities in the motif — that is the mark of a loom, not a fault.
- Dark colours such as maroon and bottle green photograph a shade lighter than in daylight.
- Order early for Eid and wedding season; handloom stock cannot be reordered quickly.
Questions people ask
- What is the price of a saree in Bangladesh?
- It depends on the weave. Tangail cotton starts around a few thousand taka, Katan and silk sit in the middle, and a handloom Dhakai Jamdani or muslin can run well above ten thousand. The live range for each category is shown on its page.
- Do you deliver sarees outside Dhaka?
- Yes, to all 64 districts. Dhaka city takes 1–2 working days, other divisions 3–5. Cash on delivery is available in every district of Bangladesh, and Bangla QR payment from any bank or mobile-money app.
- Can I return a saree?
- Contact us within 24 hours of delivery if a piece arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, and we will exchange it. Sarees that have been worn or washed cannot be returned.
- Is the blouse piece included?
- The 6.3 m option includes an unstitched blouse piece; the 5.5 m option does not. Each product page states which you are buying.
